I'm Viv, the photographer behind Poem Photography. I capture you and your loved ones in your best light, telling your story through every frame.
I live in Hertfordshire with my Husband and two Daughters and began documenting their childhood with my camera, capturing all the little moments that we’ll look back on and treasure in years to come.
Fast forward a few years and a couple of camera upgrades, I took the plunge in 2023 and decided to take portraits for other people too after being encouraged by my friends and family.
Family portrait photography is at the heart of what I do. The thing that I really love to capture above all else is children simply being children. Those authentic candid shots, the laughter, the joy, the wide eyed stares, those tender hugs and smooshy faced kisses. I’m here for all of it!

"We booked Viv for a cold and muddy day in January to capture some pictures of our young family and dog. Viv was excellent at communicating with us right from the very start. She asked lots of questions around what we wanted to achieve from the shoot and also gave us loads of tips and ideas in terms of what to expect and to pack a few snacks (which were much needed).
Upon arrival, Viv immediately put us at ease - she warmed the kids up (who can be very shy) and it felt like we were just out on a lovely winter’s day walk.
Viv was very patient and never put pressure on us to do act or pose in a certain or awkward way. She went for quality over quantity so we weren’t posing for hours on end with unnatural smiles and we discovered parts of the local wood we hadn’t seen before!
The outcome from the shoot was incredible, we are truly delighted and can’t wait to book Viv again for another shoot in spring/summer.

I am so happy that Viv was able to capture our wedding day. Before the day she was in regular communication with ideas for shots, confirming where she would be and when and I felt completely confident that she would be able to produce great shots despite not seeing the venue. Her timekeeping was excellent and on the day she made sure that she had plenty of time to get between our party's location and the ceremony venue to plan the shots we wanted.
She was fun and animated & we all felt at ease and not at all self-conscious with her being there taking shots of my mother and I getting ready, during our ceremony and reception. She easily directed our guests and family in group photos but was also able to blend into the background capturing wonderful candid shots.
We are absolutely delighted with the final results, we have beautiful photos of every part of the day to look back on. Viv was able to fully capture the spirit and emotion of the day and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend her.
